The national flag is made up of red, white and blue colors and has a red five-point star in it.
The red color of the national flag symbolizes the red blood of anti-Japanese revolutionary fighters and patriots who sacrificed themselves to the sovereignty and independence of the country and single-hearted unity.
The white color shows the gem-pure loyalty of our people to the leadership of the Party and the leader.
The blue color represents the stamina of our people fighting staunchly for the victory of the socialist cause and the world’s aspiration for peace and progress.
The red five-point star is emblematic of the revolutionary tradition inherited by the Republic, our people’s revolutionary spirit to carry through the revolutionary cause of Juche and the bright future of the ever-prospering Republic.
The national flag of Korea, perfect in terms of ideological content and level of artistic depiction, is the everlasting symbol of our Republic which will shed eternal brilliance.
