At Yonphung Scientists Holiday Camp
Twelve years have passed since the Yonphung Scientists Holiday Camp was built wonderfully on the initiative of the respected General Secretary
In January twelve years ago, the respected General Secretary, after visiting the State Academy of Sciences, traveled a long distance to define the site of the scientists holiday camp in person despite the midwinter cold.
He then guided the construction on the spot in May and in August.
In October that year, the respected General Secretary visited the completed holiday camp.
Every nook and corner including the cozy and decent video room and the photo studio are closely related to the attentive care of the respected General Secretary who approached all the problems from the standpoint of scientists and on the principle of ensuring full convenience for them and took measures beforehand.
The service facilities have several functions greatly advantageous for relieving the campers of their physical and mental fatigue including douche and aquatic ultrasonic massage.
Spectacular is the outdoor corridor which links all the buildings of the holiday camp and all its service buildings.
This special structure which is hundreds of meters long in total is also associated with the utmost care of the respected General Secretary who worried lest the scientists on camping should get wet from snow or rain.
He also made sure that the corridor was floored with blue stones lest the campers would slip on it.
That’s not all.
He also saw that the fridge in the bedrooms was moved to the anterooms so that the campers could sleep soundly free from any noise and established an ample supply system in order for the campers to lead a diverse and affluent material and cultural life.
He also gave detailed instructions as to avoiding repetitiveness in arranging camping schedules.
A woman scientist said that, though she had been abroad several times for the exchange of science and technology, she had never heard about any other countries’ having a holiday camp exclusive to scientists nor about any other state leaders’ devoting their energies to the provision of top-level rest conditions for scientists.
"Best indeed is our holiday camp where we can feel close the attentive loving care of the respected General Secretary. We are full of a single desire to repay such great benevolence with excellent sci-tech achievements without fail."
This heartfelt acknowledgement showcases how the patriotic spirit of scientists in our country is fortified and given free rein.
