Place for Happy Living of Scientists
People call the dwelling houses for scientists in Happit-dong No.２ of Hoesang District, Hamhung City the village of scientists or blessed village.
Here a lot of intellectuals including scientists and teachers in Hamhung City lead a happy life.
The dwelling houses are associated with touching story about the loving care shown by the respected General Secretary
１３ years ago, the General Secretary visited newly built Unha Scientists Street and instructed to build wonderful dwellings for scientists in every province like the houses in the street.
He said that there are numerous scientists in Hamhung City and they would envy Unha Scientists Street and took benevolent steps for building houses for scientists in Hamhung area.
Later he gave detailed instructions such as the general plot plan and miniature of the dwelling houses in Hamhung City.
So, the construction of the houses was conducted and officials and working people in South Hamgyong Province turned out for the construction true to the noble intention of our Party for providing scientists with civilized and happy life.
Several years later hundreds of dwellings for scientists were built in Hoesang District. Among the dwellers are candidate academicians, merited scientists, couple scientists and couple educators.
When moving into the new houses, they were full of zeal for repaying the benevolence shown by the respected General Secretary with valuable science research findings.
Since then the scientists have presented lots of science research findings conducive to developing national economy and improving people’s living standard and ２０-odd doctors have been produced and many scientists, teachers and researchers living in the village of scientists have received state academic degrees and titles.
The Workers’ Party of Korea highly praised their successes and invited them to the several celebration functions on the occasion of the founding anniversaries of the DPRK and the WPK and other events.
Some time ago, １０-odd teachers residing in the scientists’ dwelling area of Happit-dong No.２ of Hoesang District took part in the １５th National Conference of Teachers and had a souvenir photo taken with the respected General Secretary.
Yu Chol, a researcher at the Hamhung Branch of the State Academy of Sciences, and Kim Sun Bok, head of a department of Hamhung University of Chemical Engineering, expressed their determinations to research more valuable things and train more excellent talents making contributions to the building of a powerful country.
All our scientists and educators including those happy intellectuals leave beautiful traces of life on the road for prosperity of the country bearing in mind the faith that though there is no frontier in science, they have a socialist motherland and are under the care of the mother party.
