Mushroom Farm’s Pride in Fruit Trees

The Ryugyong Mushroom Farm, which produces every year hundreds tons of mushroom to provide for many units of the capital city, has another pride of numerous fruit trees.

The compound of the mushroom farm is covered with a lot of fruit trees such as apricot, plum and pear.

Here goes a story about the fruit trees covering the mushroom farm.

One January day 10-odd years ago, the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un visited the newly built mushroom farm despite the midwinter cold.

At that time he expressed great satisfaction at the fact that it became able to provide the citizens of the capital with tasty and nutritious mushroom. Then he kindly said he was informed that they planted over 380 fruit trees in the compound and stressed the need to plant lots of fruit trees.

The officials and employees of the mushroom farm were excited receiving the meaningful word representing the belief and expectation of the respected General Secretary hoping that Pyongyang Municipality would always take the lead in implementing the Party policy.

Since then, the employees of the mushroom farm have planted many fruit trees every year. This year alone, they said they planted hundreds of pear trees.

In fact, it is easier said than done to plant and tend fruit trees while producing mushroom. But they have worked hard with the desire to please the respected General Secretary with fragrance of fruits when they receive him in their workplace again.

As a result, the flower fragrance prevails in the mushroom farm in spring and a lot of fruits ripen in autumn to please everyone.

An official of the mushroom farm said that now a thousand and hundreds of fruit trees grow in the compound and they provide every employee with dozens of kilograms of fruits a year.

The mushroom’s pride in fruit trees, this proves vitality of the Party policy and it is the fruition of the unanimous desire of all the officials and employees of the farm to please the respected General Secretary.
