Sea of Rice Plants in Tideland Field

They foresee the per-hectare yield of paddy rice by over one ton more than last year’s in the Honggondo Tideland fields of thousands of hectares and the maximum yield per hectare is １５ tons.

The Honggondo Tideland is the monumental edifice created thanks to the noble intention of our Party.

The respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un made sure that the Honggondo Tideland was successfully reclaimed and took the revolutionary measure for establishing the irrigation system in the tideland. He repeatedly bestowed benevolence of supplying necessary materials for farming this year.

Officials and working people from many organs and enterprises in North Phyongan Province volunteered for the Honggondo Tideland field with the firm will to glorify the Party’s leadership exploits by reaping high yield. They strived to produce much more grains this significant year on the basis of successes, experience and lessons gained in the tideland farming in recent years.

Meanwhile, the province conducted field political work to arouse the enthusiasm of masses and scientifically guided the farming attaching importance to increasing per-hectare yield in all paddy fields.

In particular, they directed great efforts to securing new superior species of rice upholding the Party’s policy of seed revolution. They increased the number of varieties of rice with strong resistance to salt and correctly sowed varieties of rice in the tideland according to the salinity of soil.

The province also scientifically and practically organized in a foresighted way the work to minimize yield reduction by the disastrous abnormal climate.

They raised the scientific management of rice-paddy irrigation through the gravitational waterway system to ensure growth of paddy rice in spite of persisting draught and high temperature.

As a result, all the officials and working people reaped a rich harvest by devoting their efforts and enthusiasm to the farming.

Now they are full of resolutions to make a report of loyalty to our Party after ingathering the crops.
