On Road of Devotion to Rising Generation
Truthful Mothers, Correct Educators
Once, the respected General Secretary
He embraced the children there and warmly blessed their future.
Then he noted that he visited them after delivering the New Year address for the purpose of learning about the living of the orphans who greeted the new year without parents and the upbringing and education of them and taking necessary measures.
Then, he looked round the baby home and orphanage in turn and gave precious instructions as to the education and upbringing of children.
The nurses of the baby home and teachers of the orphanage should be both mothers and teachers for the orphans, he taught, adding that they should be truthful mothers and correct educators for them.
His instruction implied his willingness to educate all the orphans upright and correct and train them into excellent masters of the future of the country.
That day, he stressed that what is learned in the cradle is carried to the tomb, so man should be taught well from when he is little and that the orphans should be taught to observe the elements of etiquette in all the domains of life like greeting the teachers and elders first when meeting or leaving them.
The officials, nurses and teachers of the baby home and orphanage hardened their will to bring up the orphans sound with warm love and affection of real mothers.
Personally Setting Criterion for Evaluation
One day in November 2015, the respected General Secretary inspected the Pyongyang Children’s Foodstuff Factory.
That day, he made rounds of the factory and instructed to further improve the product quality and vie with other countries in terms of flavor of the products.
He then taught the officials that they cannot cheat the children’s tongues which are the most sensitive and that even newborns can recognize flavor though they cannot speak.
He continued that, if children prefer foreign products to those of the factory’s making, it means the factory’s products are not so tasty.
Presently, he emphasized that the criterion for evaluation of the quality of products made at the factory is whether they are popular among children or not.
Products popular among children are high-quality and tasty but those which are not are low in quality and untasty--this was the noble intention of the respected General Secretary, the father of all the children across the country.
The criterion of evaluation he personally set was a crystallization of his eagerness to provide the rising generation with only the best things in the world.
Height of Desks and Chairs He Paid Attention to
In August two years ago, the respected General Secretary inspected the trial lesson given at the school arranged at the April 25 Hostel for the students from flood-hit regions.
Looking at the children engrossed in the lesson with delight, he went to the front, watched the teaching plan and asked which school the teacher was from.
After listening to the reply, he asked her how they defined the height of desks and chairs in the classroom at her school.
The teacher replied that they placed lower ones in the front rows and higher ones in the rear so that students could be seated according to their heights.
The respected General Secretary taught that it was not a perfect solution and that the desks in the classroom might be uncomfortable for students in higher grades though they might be suitable for pupils in the second grade of primary school. He continued that there might be both tall and short students even in the same class.
Then he pointed out that desks and chairs should not be made on a uniform standard and that they should rather be made to be height-adjustable.
No one paid such attention to those desks and chairs.
However, the respected General Secretary saw through the slight inconvenience the students might feel.
This single story tells us how attentive the respected General Secretary’s loving care for the rising generation is.
