Glorious Course under Great Leadership

The Mansudae Art Theatre well known as beautiful palace of the Juche-oriented musical art is greeting its ５０th founding anniversary.

The Mansudae Art Theatre was founded on October ２１, １９７６ on the initiative of and under energetic guidance of Chairman Kim Jong Il.

The Chairman personally chose the site of the theatre in the central part of the capital city and saw that it was perfectly built for ensuring the performances in the presence of President Kim Il Sung.

Thanks to the Chairman’s steadfast will to provide the Mansudae Art Troupe, national treasure unit, with the best stage in the world, the Mansudae Art Theatre was built as a world-class one in which revolutionary operas and music and dance performances can be performed.

Once, the Chairman meaningfully said that the Mansudae Art Troupe could be called the native place of his music-based policies.

The theatre opened with the music and dance tale "Song of Paradise". Since then the Chairman guided creation activities of major art troupes including the Mansudae Art Troupe, the State Merited Chorus, the Pochonbo Electronic Ensemble and the then Wangjaesan Light Music Band to accomplish a lot of masterpieces of the era of Workers’ Party.

The position and fame of the Mansudae Art Theatre is ever more shining along with the Juche-oriented musical art ushering in a new golden era led by the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un.

The respected General Secretary led the art theatre to perfectly ensure the performances in the presence of Chairman Kim Jong Il at the best level.

Through the New Year concert in ２０１２, the respected General Secretary aroused all the people to the struggle for accomplishing the cause of building a powerful socialist power, life-long desire of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il, as early as possible. He organized in person the Moranbong Band with the firm will to dynamically advance the march of new era by dint of revolutionary musical art and made sure that the band played its premiere at the Mansudae Art Theatre.

Energetically guiding the creative activities of major art troupes such as the Ensemble of the State Affairs Commission, the State Merited Chorus and the Samjiyon Orchestra, the respected General Secretary gave unique solutions to the theoretical and practical problems arising in ushering in the new heyday of the Juche-oriented musical art.

He saw to it that the Juche-oriented Musical Art Museum was wonderfully built at the Mansudae Art Theatre, witness of our Party’s guidance on the musical art, which is of great significance in successfully carrying forward the glorious tradition of the Korean revolution.

The glorious history of our revolution victoriously advancing on the strength of ideology will be everlasting and the name of the Mansudae Art Theatre, grand palace of the Juche-oriented musical art, will shine generation after generation under the distinguished leadership of the respected General Secretary.
