Ideological Guards of Workers’ Party of Korea

The hearts of the Party information officials are still pulsating with excitement at the Third Workshop for Officials in the Information Sector of the WPK held last September.

Respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un who attended the closing ceremony as well as the opening ceremony of the workshop clarified principled issues to be adhered to in putting the contents, forms, methods and means of ideological work on the basis of progress and development in keeping with the expectations of the times, revolution and the people and set forth important tasks and ways for guaranteeing innovation in the Party-wide ideological work.

Then he expressed firm belief that all the participants in the workshop will open up the road of advance in the new era holding high the great banner of ideology-first principle and with enthusiasm and courage as befit ideological guards of the WPK.

Ideological guards of the WPK--herein lies the great expectations of the Party Central Committee for information officials across the Party to become the most faithful guards defending and supporting our Party ideologically and further cement our political and ideological positions rock-solid and dynamically usher in a period of upsurge of comprehensive development of socialism with powerful ideological offensive by bravely shouldering their responsibility assigned by the times and revolution.

To our Party which holds up the Juche-oriented theory of giving importance to ideology, ideological work is the very core of Party work.

Our Party attaches the foremost importance to ideological front in order to push forward and reliably guarantee the victorious advance of revolution by dint of ideology and bring earlier tomorrow of prosperity and therefore greatly prioritizes the role of officials in the Party information sector which no one else can replace.

We still remember the respected General Secretary emphasizing on the high platform of the Eighth Conference of Ideological Workers of the WPK that the standard-bearers in the effort to model the entire Party and the whole society on Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism are ideological workers.

Noting that the Party has great expectations for and places firm trust in the ideological officials, he expressed conviction that the Party ideological front will launch an ideological campaign at once to inspire all the people to the campaign for ushering in the heyday of Juche Korea and had a photo session with the participants in the conference.

His venerable image of that day is still cherished precious deep in the hearts of the Party information officials.

In March four years ago, he also had a meaningful souvenir photo taken with the participants in the First Workshop for Officials in the Information Sector of the WPK.

That day, he taught that the Party information officials should naturally become undying torches and thunder of the WPK in fortifying the politico-ideological might, the strongest of national power decisive of the victorious advance of our-style socialism and the irresistible might peculiar to Juche Korea.

The Second Workshop for Officials in the Information Sector of the WPK convened under the great trust of the respected General Secretary served as an occasion of great practical significance in providing a new springboard for continuously encouraging the upward trend of state rejuvenation with the inexhaustible might of ideology by effecting a fundamental innovation in Party ideological work as required by the new era of gigantic changes.

On his historic horseback march to Mt Paektu, he underlined the need for the leading members of the revolution to discipline themselves through the study tour of the revolutionary battle sites in Mt Paektu in order to fully prepare and arm themselves to be solid and able political activists.

Then he called the Party information officials across the country to the sacred march before anyone else.

Under the guidance of the respected General Secretary who leads the information officials in direct charge of ideological work step by step, the Party primary information officials across the country, too, have grown to be today’s political operatives inheriting the tradition of mass political work of the anti-Japanese guerrilla army and close friends and core of the collective whom the people model after and rely on.

This is not all.

The respected General Secretary arranged a meeting of information officials in charge of the ideological work in the People’s Army and energetically led them to wage ideological work in a frontline style, thereby bringing about a fresh turn in ideological work within the People’s Army and our Army have fully demonstrated the might of the army with the strongest ideology.

Indeed, thanks to the guidance of his, the Party information workers could cover the single road of loyalty by training themselves to be ardent loyalists who lay down their lives in order to defend the ideology and prestige of the Party, transparent-minded revolutionaries who are only intent on doing the revolution though they might be poorly fed and conscientious and able persons who fulfill the revolutionary tasks by displaying their qualification and good working traits.

Greater and more dazzling changes will be witnessed on this land as there is a large contingent of standard-bears of the ideological front rousing all the people with the ideology and intention of the Party Central Committee and the great people devoting all their faithful and patriotic zeal to upholding the Party’s leadership.
