Great Care of Bringing Up Future of Country
The Most Important Affair of Party and State
It is the honor and pride of the Korean Children’s Union that it has adorned an 80-year-long history with the great country.
The KCU has recorded a proud history of 80 years as it had the original ideas and leadership of our Party which put it forward as the most important work to bring up the KCU members as the successors to the revolution and future pillars.
Ten years ago, the respected Comrade General Secretary
He taught that the President wisely led the work with youth and children, seeing through the importance of the work, and that no one in the world attached importance to the work with youth and children, looking far ahead into the future of revolution, like the President did.
The Saenal Children’s Union was born in just two months after the formation of the Down-with-imperialism Union, the origin of the Korean revolution, which cannot just be explained as a coincidence of history.
The red tie which has remained unchanged for the past 80 years of the KCU is a crystallization of the purest patriotic loyalty of our KCU members and their salute "Ready always!" is an echo of succession.
The birth of the Korean Children’s Union which inherited the soul of the Saenal Children’s Union and Anti-Japanese Children’s Corps was a historic event promising the ever-rosy future of new Korea.
On the historic July 6, 1946, a grandiose ceremony for founding the Korean Children’s Union was held in the presence of the President.
Wearing a bright smile on his face, the President blessed the children to become heroes of new democratic Korea by growing up sound and strong and studying well.
The foundation of the KCU gave our country and people a powerful strength with which to ensure eternal future by fully preparing their next generation at any stage of development of revolution and construction of the state.
The historic June 6, which comes to us every year, becomes the precious milestone infusing an absolute confidence in the promising future of the Juche revolution into our minds.
One day in the year marking the 20th founding anniversary of the KCU, Chairman
Then and there, the Chairman taught the officials that fireworks had to be displayed on the occasion of the children’s holiday
It was an established custom to let off fireworks to celebrate the auspicious events of the country like the war victory.
However, the Chairman unfolded an ecstasy of fireworks on the founding day of the Children’s Union for the beloved young generation.
Indeed, that day’s fireworks were equal to a declaration of the immovable will of our Party to grant all the happiness to the KCU members and the most vivid picture of the status of the KCU members whom our Party, state and people hold up high.
Our Party has attached the greatest importance to the work of the KCU throughout its revolutionary guidance.
Herein lies the loftiness and greatness of our Party which has the precious appellation--the party of the rising generation, the party of future.
It is the unshakable creed of the respected Comrade General Secretary that the work of the KCU should surely be placed at the top of all the state affairs as the KCU members are pillars who will shoulder the future of the country.
Everyone still recollects with deep emotion the celebrations of the 66th founding anniversary of the KCU where over 40 000 schoolchildren were shouting hurrahs full of boundless happiness and were shedding tears of excitement listening to the congratulatory speech made by the respected fatherly Marshal
On that unforgettable day, he said that, to our Party and Republic, the beloved KCU members are precious treasures incomparable to worldly goods and hopes and future.
With such lofty outlook on posterity and future, he watched the schoolchildren’s New Year performance late at night on the New Year’s Day and posed for a souvenir photograph with them.
Although lots of Party and state meetings of great importance are held every year, our Party consistently gives importance to the reunion of the KCU members.
It is so touching to remember that the respected Comrade General Secretary taught to put as much efforts into the preparations for the Ninth Congress of the KCU as into the Party Congress.
We still remember a touching story of tens of years ago.
Early in July, 1970, a plenary meeting of the Party Central Committee was going on in the capital city of Pyongyang.
An official who was summoned by the President was so surprised because he never imagined that the President would watch the design of marks for activists in the Children’s Union at the recess of the plenary meeting where an important issue of great historic significance in the development of the Party was discussed.
The officials were touched by the instruction of the President who taught that red stars in the new design of activists’ marks symbolized the advancement toward the future of communism and suited the psychological features of the KCU members, sensitive to new things and highly revolutionary.
The marks of activists in the Children’s Union are so small but they are precious symbols which show for whom the Workers’ Party of Korea struggles and with which it emerges ever-victorious.
Meaningful stories which are only possible in our country are still born one after another.
The Ninth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Party Central Committee discussed on increasing the sense of responsibility in the implementation of the socialist policy for schoolchildren as the second agenda item and the respected Comrade General Secretary stressed that it is the consistent policy of the Workers’ Party of Korea and the eternal national policy of the DPRK that the Party and the state supply necessities for schoolchildren in a responsible manner clearly. This fact verified that our Party is the party of posterity both in name and in reality which prioritizes the work for schoolchildren the most.
Short as the children’s strides are, they are big steps toward the future.
Our people are full of fresh hope and infinite strength, looking at the cheerful looks of the KCU members marching under the flag of the KCU.
They are full of gratitude toward the President, the Chairman and the respected Comrade General Secretary for endlessly strengthening and developing the KCU, the dear home harboring the beautiful dreams and future of Korea.
It is the greatest love our Party bestowed upon the rising generation that it formed a political organization, illuminated the right path and has attentively guided the KCU members for as long as 80 years in order to let them know the country and the revolution and take the first right step.
Taking All Pains
80 years have passed after the founding of the Korean Children’s Union (KCU).
What remains unchanged and further highlighted despite the passage of time, is the happy looks of the new generations who grow up stoutly in the bosom of the Party which devotes boundless love and affection to the children’s union members.
We still recollect with deep emotion the touching scene unfolded at the Grand Mass Gymnastics and Artistic Performance for celebrating the 80th founding anniversary of the Workers’ Party of Korea. That day our schoolchildren sang that our father is Marshal
A pupil at a primary school for orphans expressed his emotion, saying that thanks to the loving care of the respected fatherly Marshal
This is the unanimous mind of all the children’s union members who have enjoyed only happiness under the boundless love of the respected fatherly Marshal.
President
Chairman
Today the respected Comrade General Secretary is building our country into a paradise for the posterity to be envied by the world.
Our Party, which exerts more sincerity to children even the condition becomes worse and takes dynamic steps forward towards the future of powerful country with the might of that love, has taken all pains for bringing up the schoolchildren to be happy and excellent.
Two years ago the northwestern part of the DPRK was damaged by an unexpected flood. When everyone was thinking about the rehabilitation, the respected Comrade General Secretary took important measures for giving education to the children of flood-hit areas.
He personally visited the tents where the flood victims of Uiju County were staying temporarily. That day, providing the children with new clothes and confectionaries, he earnestly said that he learned more clearly for whom we should struggle and we should become stronger seeing the cheerful looks of the children and that we must give education to children no matter how unfavorable the conditions may be.
It is the immutable principle of the respected Comrade General Secretary to do whatever he can do for the children at the highest level.
At the Fifth National Conference of Mothers, the respected Comrade General Secretary warmly said:
Now I feel very fulfilled that our Party and government, with much efforts, managed to feed all the children of the country with dairy products everyday, fully provide all the schoolchildren with "Sonamu"-trademarked school bags, uniforms and things and give a facelift to children’s palaces, camps and halls.
It is said raising a child requires a lot of effort.
All the mothers across the country shed tears of gratitude looking up to the respected Comrade General Secretary who regards it as his happiness rather than a pain to make devoted efforts to bringing up children.
What holds the most prominent position in the history of the loving care of the mother Party is to bring up the members of the children’s union as young revolutionaries, young patriots steadfastly carrying forward the Juche revolution.
It is the noble intention of the respected Comrade General Secretary that the love of the country does not form by its own but from valuing even a tree, a pebble of the village.
On March 2, 2017, the respected Comrade General Secretary visited Mangyongdae Revolutionary School and planted trees with its students.
Casting a smile in the direction of the students, he said that the baton of the revolution should be inherited in the patriotism, too, adding that through the course of planting the trees, we should implant in the minds of the students the attachment to the country’s mountains and streams and the master-like attitude of regarding all assets as their possessions.
His precious instruction that day reflected his noble intention that we should educate children’s union members in such a way as to let them be aware of the fact that patriotism is itself revolution and cherish a firm will to devote their all to the dignity and eternal prosperity of the country.
The story of the New Year’s Day two years ago is also associated with his loving care for letting the new generations steadily carry forward the baton of patriotism.
That day the respected Comrade General Secretary listened to the story about the pride of exemplary members of the KCU.
He expressed satisfaction over the fact that the members of the children’s union were doing lots of good deeds for the country.
As he saw the seed of patriotism in their deeds and pictured the future of the powerful country firmly supported by them, the respected Comrade General Secretary was so much pleased.
It is the Party’s intention to make the schoolchildren learn that our country is best through daily life, not in mere words.
The respected Comrade General Secretary, who gave field guidance at a bag factory, said that bags and school things, though they are not big, play very important role in educating the children.
The sound growth of our schoolchildren is attributable to the ardent devotion of the great father.
One night, the respected Comrade General Secretary, on his way of field guidance, examined new samples of school things in an office room of the train where important issues for the prosperity of the state are discussed.
Carefully watching nice samples one by one, he wore a smile of satisfaction.
Although he sat up all night, the respected Comrade General Secretary felt the great delight and sang in a low voice the song "March of the Children’s Union" regardless of his fatigue.
That is the marching song in the great
