One day in November ２０１８, the respected Comrade General Secretary Kim Jong Un visited the North Phyongan Provincial Art Theatre to see the master plan for the construction of Sinuiju City and a diorama of the future city drawn up by the province.

While indicating orientation and ways for sprucing up the city as befitting a country’s border city, he brought to topic the issue of building up the designing force.

Saying that provinces should no more entrust the design organs of central level with construction design of their own provinces, he instructed that the construction should be conducted in a way suited to the specific situation of each province and the provincial design organs and construction forces intensified to this end.

After a while, he pointed out that in order to revitalize the construction in regional areas in the future it is imperative for provincial Party committees to pay attention to the work of modernizing their design organs, stressing that design organs of provinces can be called resources and assets of relevant provinces.

Presently he made an earnest request that provincial Party committees should spare nothing in the work for training design force and strengthening design organs, fully aware that it is the work for laying an important guarantee for developing their own regions in a distinctive way and ensuring resources and assets.

His instruction of that day brought the officials to bear deep in mind the fact that if they neglect the work for training and strengthening provincial design organs and construction force, they would lag far behind other regions in terms of civilization and self-supporting ability.

Thoroughly for People

Once, the respected Comrade General Secretary gave field guidance at the Yangdok Hot Spring Resort under construction.

Feasting his eyes on the appearance of the Yangdok area which underwent a great transformation, he said that the area really underwent a tremendous change and our people would be so much delighted to visit the area.

Then he asked an accompanying official what he thought of the area.

The official replied that anyone who visits the area associated with the Party’s love for people would get great impressions.

Saying that the area was the creation in which the people-first architectural idea of our Party is fully embodied, the respected Comrade General Secretary added that all the structures in the area were for the people and reflected their demands.

He continued that it is thoroughly for people that the Party builds a hot spring resort in the Yangdok area.

It should be unconditionally carried out though the work for the people needs a lot of money and is too much for us, he said, stressing that devoted service for the people is the climate of the Workers’ Party of Korea which invariably holds fast to the people-first principle as the core of its mainstay and the basic task of our officials, commanding personnel of the revolution.

Like this, the respected Comrade General Secretary implanted deep in the minds of the officials our Party’s steadfast will to build new monumental edifices serving as a treasure of the people one after another.

Indeed, the Yangdok Hot Spring Resort is the crystallization of the people-first architecture which eloquently shows how the Workers’ Party of Korea serves the people.
