Beautiful Stories under Socialist System

As One Family

On the morning of the New Year’s Day, some persons visited the house of Chon Po Ok, a female war veteran living in Hwasong District of Pyongyang.

With materials for tonics and souvenirs prepared for the war veteran, they visited her before anyone else although they were busy to call at many others on the holiday morning.

They told her that it is the due duty of younger generation to visit the war veteran first and please her. They have called at Chon Po Ok on holidays, anniversaries and her birthday.

So, Chon regards them as her real grandsons and granddaughters.

Like this, young people in our country respect the predecessors of the revolution as genuine teachers and benefactors who provided precious mental heritage for all of us. It is a tendency of our society and a beautiful picture which can be seen only in our country.

Although They Are Far Away from Home

Officials of Songchon County, South Phyongan Province called at a house in Sangha-ri on the occasion of the New Year. Two sons of the family, who volunteered for the construction site of the Sinuiju Combined Greenhouse Farm, are innovators of the Paektusan Hero Youth Shock Brigade.

After they left for the construction site, the officials of Songchon County have always paid deep attention to their family lest it should feel any inconvenience.

Other officials of the county visited many families of volunteers who went to the construction site in the Wihwa Island area.

The families expressed thanks to the officials who have taken deep care of them, but the officials told them that the members of the Paektusan Hero Youth Shock Brigade are prides of Songchon County and it is their duty to take care of them.

Hearing the news of the hometown on the holiday, the shock brigade members renewed their determination to work harder, keeping in mind the benevolent people’s expectation and affections, although they are far away from hometown.

Affection Reflected in New Year’s Greeting Card

On the morning of the New Year’s Day Ri Kum Sun, residing in the 11th People’s Neighbourhood Unit in Tongsan-dong No. 2 of Rangnang District, received the New Year’s Greeting Cards from the orphans of Huichon Orphan’s Secondary School.

Reading the cards, she was deeply impressed and recollected the past days in which she and her family were acquainted with the orphans far away.

Several years ago, her father, who was working at a mushroom farm, came across an official of Huichon Orphan’s Secondary School who was on a business trip to Pyongyang.

Her father learnt from the official about the fact that the secondary school was going to cultivate the mushroom to improve the diet life of the orphans and actively helped him prepare the materials needed for the mushroom production.

Since then her family has formed a kindred relation with the orphans and devoted their sincerity to them. During those days Ri Kum Sun keenly felt the benevolence of the motherly Party who spares nothing for the parentless children.

Therefore Ri has covered the road of devotion for the orphans after the marriage.

Song Resounded at Workers’ Hostel

On the morning of January 2 some people visited the workers’ hostel of the Wonsan School Uniform Factory.

They are none other than the officials of the factory.

Lodgers of the hostel, welcoming the officials, were deeply impressed.

Because the officials had visited the hostel on the early morning of the New Year’s Day to take warm care of the lodgers’ living condition and they visited the hostel again on the morning of the following day.

Looking at the officials, the lodgers felt the kindred affection.

Indeed, for the lodgers, the hostel was like their dear home and the officials were like their flesh and blood.

Therefore the workers’ hostel resounded with songs of happiness which were sung together by the lodgers and officials.

They were songs in praise of the benevolent socialist system which values the working class the most.
