Songbul Temple
The Songbul Temple is situated on Mt Jongbang in Sariwon City, North Hwanghae Province. The temple is a precious cultural heritage which shows the superior architecture of our ancestors.
The temple was built in 898.
It consists of six buildings including Kungnak(paradise) Hall and Ungjin Hall and a five-storied pagoda.
Kungnak Hall, the main building, has three folding doors on the front and two on the side.
It is a one-storey building with a gable roof.
Kungnak Hall was destroyed by the brutal bombings of the U.S. imperialists during the Fatherland Liberation War and was rehabilitated after the war.
